This year has been one hell of a labyrinth of trials. War, fire, all the nasty things Pandora unleashed from that box of hers. And now, we have Eclipse Season bearing down on us.
The Solar Eclipse Itself
Solar Eclipse Leo hits full intensity at 20 Leo 01’58” on August 12, 2026 10:36 AM PDT / 5:36 PM UTC.
This Solar Eclipse takes place in Leo, fifth sign of the zodiac. As a supercharged New Moon, this Solar Eclipse rules the fifth house functions of fun, adventure, more flighty and short romances, and matters involving children. Given that this is also in the third decan of Leo, this Solar Eclipse will take on some Aries/Mars qualities as well. We should not expect a boring time with this combination.
Sun conjunct Moon is the main aspect of this Solar Eclipse, like all New Moons. New beginnings (some stemming from recent endings), new projects, new adventures, and new fields of focus. And as this is much more amplified being an eclipse, what begins during this lunar cycle will be prominent for the next several months, perhaps the full year, and recently I’ve seen indications that Solar and Lunar Eclipses may even affect us for a few years afterwards. So do note what begins now, as it will color many things for some time to come.
Those with placements from 15 degrees in fixed signs (Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus) will feel the full force of this eclipse, especially on personal planets and luminaries (Sun/Moon/Mercury/Venus/Mars), as well as the personal points (Ascendant/Descendant, Midheaven/I.C., North/South Nodes, and tighter orbs for Vertex/Antivertex).
Harder aspects to those natal placements (square/opposition/conjunction, and to a lesser degree semisquares (~45 degree aspect) and sesquiquadrates (~135 degree aspects)) will feel this eclipse much more powerfully.
Other Aspects to the Solar Eclipse
Own Your Power
Solar Eclipse Leo makes a wide trine to Saturn retrograde (Rx) in Aries, so almost muted in impact but still present. This is the only major-body aspect this Solar Eclipse makes with the most-used aspects.
Saturn is discipline, and with it retrograde in Aries, we’re turning that discipline and restriction upon ourselves in some way. But this isn’t always a bad thing. You need discipline to move through obstacles. Think the muscles breaking down during a workout so they can grow back stronger, but only with the right nutrients and rest.
Saturn is weakened in Aries as well, given its exaltation in Libra. So discipline problems can manifest in certain ways too, such as increased cravings and desires via instant gratification. Be especially aware of this as Neptune is in Aries too, though not in range of the Eclipse nor Saturn itself at the moment.
Potentials to Learn
Solar Eclipse Leo also makes a sextile to 6583 Destinn, 55555 DNA, and 9770 Discovery in Gemini.
Destinn brings to mind “destiny”, or destined events. Perhaps destined discoveries, as Discovery is also here. And DNA brings to mind genetics. So it’s likely over the next several months we see some major breakthrough or announcement of a discovery of something health or genetics related is my thought. We’ll see what comes through.
Solar Eclipse Leo also sextiles 2696 Magion in Libra. I’d see this as the potential to make some magic happen in terms of creative ventures with others. Solitary artists and writers should also do well with this energy if applied, as it could bring forth the potential for a helping hand to make some magic happen.
However, Solar Eclipse Leo square 12927 Pinocchio in Scorpio brings an air of trouble, especially with Solar Eclipse Leo also opposing 389 Industria Rx in Aquarius. Be aware of lies being spread regarding technological industries and surveillance tech is my thought on this. This could even bring a collapse after the house of cards falls of one or two of these tech giants or surveillance apparati.
I’m thinking Flock could collapse and those cameras start disappearing over the next year if this is an indication. Or, Flock Safety is more likely to dig in its heels and fight. This won’t end quietly.
Other Aspects to Consider During this Solar Eclipse Cycle
Message from the Cosmos
We have a mystic rectangle pattern with Pluto Rx in Aquarius, sextile Neptune Rx in Aries, trine Mercury in Leo, and that sextiles Venus in Libra, trining back to Pluto Rx.
Pluto Rx sextile Neptune Rx works together to bring some internal visions we need to move ourselves forward in their respective signs. We can expect some retreating and regrouping, and silently planning for the bigger moves to come to shake up society and communities.
Pluto Rx opposing Mercury in Leo does shake things up with this pattern. We do want some better news to come across for our summer fun, but Pluto is having us back up and reevaluate. If not outright decimate and destroy, as is the case with the wildfires in the Western United States right now.
On a lighter note, Pluto Rx trine Venus could bring some new love or new partnership potentials into view. Do note that Venus opposes Neptune Rx in the same pattern, so make sure you see what you need to see, and not just what you want to see.
Neptune Rx conjunct 10961 Buysballot Rx strikes me as potentials for manipulating things to come out ahead, or setting up the framework for a big cheat or rigging something. Like an election. But Neptune Rx square Mars in the critical 0 degree of Cancer may make things boil over. Think someone so certain that they must win that they lose their cool and play their hand too early. Or are just incapable of keeping calm and not telegraphing all of their moves.
Mars conjunct Ceres at 0 Cancer brings an interesting angle to this. This could come out as a strong desire to build a family or a new home, or at the very least take stock and fight for the home one has (or has lost).
Mercury in Leo does conjunct 3402 Wisdom, and to a larger orb, Jupiter also in Leo. So with some give and take with Pluto forcing us to confront internal security and the role of tech and rebellion in our lives, we’re also being asked to be smart and wise about what we’re doing.
This is also a time of bigger ideas coming to fruition and being developed. We can see this with the rise of more progressive and democratic socialist candidates making some progress in the primaries in the United States this time around. But can they seal the deal in November 2026? Assuming the Neptune Rx/Buysballot Rx does not interfere, it’s possible.
We do also have Mercury in Leo sextile Uranus in Gemini (itself sextile Neptune Rx and trine Pluto Rx and Venus, forming an Air Grand Trine Kite) , bringing a flash of wisdom and opportunity, and also bringing to light shady backroom deals and strange plots. On the flip side, some of those plots could go unnoticed if the ones plotting are wise enough.
Mars square Venus is a bit of a wide orb, but does also point to some potential arguments in the home and relationship front. But this square is, I believe, separating, so the impact is less than it could be. Juno Rx in the last degree of Capricorn making an offsign quincunx to Mars and Ceres in Cancer could also add to the awkwardness and force people to reconsider some of their contracts and agreements. Some pairings just won’t stand the test of time, but which ones will? Have to use the Mercury-Wisdom influence and think this through.
Trouble in Paradise
Chiron Rx, at 0 degrees Taurus and getting ready to reenter Aries later on, opposes 433 Eros in late Libra, and also opposes 763 Cupido, 157 Dejanira, and 447 Valentine in early Scorpio. That’s a lot to take in.
Given that Chiron Rx also squares Juno Rx, this makes a bit of an asteroid and centaur T-Square, mainly dealing with love, romance, attraction, and commitment.
Given how much prices have gone up in some ways, the costs of trying to get some fun play may be a bit insurmountable for some over the next several months. But there should still be opportunities as Chiron Rx trines 4955 Gold in late Leo and 875 Nymphe in early Virgo. So there’s some summer fun potential. But you’ll have to work for it, and its’ possible the Gold-Nymphe sextile to Eros/Cupido/Dejanira/Valentine smooths things over even more. We can only hope.
In Closing
This Solar Eclipse in Leo heralds some new beginnings and developments in terms of what we want to do in our lives, versus just accepting the same old shit. People are done accepting the same old.
There’s some real potential here to rise from the ashes and rebuild into something better. Calling out and stopping those who would rob us of our future needs to happen globally at this point, or the future triumphs we could have will have been wasted by sabotage and fear.
Definitely keep creating if you can. Even if it’s not a good time for you to launch personally, the time will come.
And definitely keep an eye out for health advances and opportunities to improve your body. It’ll be a fight for most of us, but after looking at this eclipse’s alignments, I’m feeling a little better about things.
Things will be alright for some of us. But we’ve got to make sure we’re not getting in our own way.
And heavens help the ones who continue to try to corral us. It isn’t going to hold. It is the Age of Revolution with Pluto in Aquarius, after all.
