New Moon Aries peaks at 27 Ari 28’58” on April 17th, 2026 at 4:51 AM PDT / 11:51 AM UTC.
This New Moon takes effect in Aries, first sign of the zodiac, putting some serious focus on ourselves and our individual core makeup. As it’s in the third decan of Aries, there’s a Sagittarisn/Jupiter-style hopefulness and far-off or lofty hope to this one. However, what this New Moon is conjunct will play heavily into this and will involve a great deal of catharsis and intense reckonings.
Aries itself is ruled by Mars, the planet of passion, drive, ambition, war, anger, rage. For some, this can be a lunar cycle of intense action for the better. For others, reckoning will come swiftly and without any hope of mercy. In any case, this will not be a boring four week cycle.
Sun conjunct Moon remains the primary aspect of this and all New Moons, indicating new beginnings and the commencement of projects, timelines, and chapters in current and future history. The next chapters being written now will mark us for decades.
Babies born under this New Moon, particularly those that make it to adulthood, will be shaping the future for the next century. Do not discount anyone born now. Engrave this into your memory.
Other Aspects to this New Moon
Operation Trojan Horse
New Moon Aries conjuncts Eris and Chiron. That is the primary aspect of this New Moon and it cannot be understated!
Eris is discord, chaos, shaking things up. She is the goddess who threw the golden apple into the middle of a contest of beauty that triggered the Trojan War. We do not screw with Eris, because she will screw back, and will screw back hard.
Chiron, of course, is the wounded healer, the centaur who could heal others but not himself.
Combined, this is a lunar cycle of forced healing and some wounding, some of it self-inflicted in ways, but don’t discount anything that can happen here. There will be pain, but there will also be a chance to close some chapters now.
This New Moon in Aries also conjuncts a few key asteroids: 55555 DNA, 4227 Kaali, 8690 Swindle, and 6583 Destinn. Let’s take this one step at a time.
DNA is self-apparent: genetic material, the seeds of life, and associated subjects like viruses, genetic diseases, strong genes, weak genes, you get the picture. With Chiron and Eris, we could see some disruption in health and genetics, or perhaps some exotic new therapies with some potential side effects.
Kaali brings to mind the Hindu deity Kali. We do not screw with Kali. This asteroid serves as an amplifier, so do expect some major health developments overall. Medical events and news among prominent officials is greatly highlighted, in my view. This will also be a make-or-break time for making necessary changes to your health and regimens. For some of us, myself included, those changes need to happen now. Or suffer the wrath of negligence.
Swindle, that sounds like bullshitting and lies, doesn’t it? Be aware of snake oil salesmen and fraudsters with false cures. Be very discerning with those health ads you might be seeing on social media now. They’ve been all over my feed lately, and I bet I’ll see more. You will too.
Destinn, this brings to mind destiny. And this is a destined time, of which there is no doubt. Several planets and luminaries in Aries all at once, and the lunar Year of the Fire Horse… That is a TON of fire energy.
New Moon Aries also opposes 157 Dejanira retrograde (Rx) and 763 Cupido Rx in Libra, while also squaring 433 Eros and 4955 Gold in Cancer, and also squares 5239 Reiki in Capricorn.
Dejanira is the victim asteroid, where we are vulnerable. With Cupido (think Cupid), there is the danger of us being taken for a ride by those who would seduce us. And Dejanira/Cupido oppose Swindle, so keep that in mind.
The square to Eros and Gold suggests that all that glitters is not gold, especially when it comes to lustful encounters. This can happen behind closed doors too, and if not careful, well, there’s that link to DNA, so you could end up with another surprise nine or so months down the road. If you’re not looking to expand your family, wrap it up.
The other square to Reiki in Capricorn, especially concerning DNA and the more lustful and victim asteroids as well as the wounded healer… given the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and all the supplies no longer going through there… I think there’s a strong likelihood of medical supply shortages. All the more reason to holistically watch your health if you possibly can, and make improvements!
New Moon Aries does sextile 16 Psyche and 1912 Anubis in Gemini, both of these being psychic and occult asteroids. There’s the potential for us giving and receiving some esoteric knowledge and perhaps being able to trust some gut feelings. Be aware of subtle psychic influences this lunar cycle.
Other Notable Aspects During this New Moon
Aries Cluster-Rhymes-With-Truck
Let’s address the flaming elephant in the room. We have a major stellium (multi-conjunction) with Mars, Mercury, Neptune, and Saturn all together in first decan of Aries. I don’t think I need to really tell you that this is a highly volatile and powerful combination.
Mars, the planet of war, drive, ambition, passion, and raw passionate sexuality (so passionate I have to say it twice or three times)… it’s in its domicile (home sign) of Aries, and it is amplified to the nth degree. We are in a realm of “my way or the highway”, and certainly some obliteration of highways too in places.
But this can also be a bit of a trailblazer, so don’t look at it as all bad. It’s also not all good. It’s what you can make of it, and there’s certainly enough energy here to kickstart some things. Make sure your plans are solid if you take advantage of this.
Mercury is alright here, and denotes some more forceful and assertion in our communications with others. With Mars, there’s a chance to make some breakthroughs (such as clearing a landslide north of my location and reopening an Interstate highway that was partially blocked for close to a month as one example).
There’s also the potential for speaking off of the cuff and making some statements that dig bigger holes. So think before you say something incendiary. And given the recent warehouse fires happening here in the United States, I think we may see more discontent become manifest in forceful ways.
Saturn in Aries, on the other hand, is not in a good spot and is in fall here. Authority figures say “slow down.” Mars here increases the drive to tell those authorities what to do with themselves, none of it loving. And for some authority figures, deservedly so. Even those who would normally be well-liked and received are going to get more pushback from a populace that’s already pretty pissed off. Elected and appointed officials and authority figures should tread carefully. Anything taken as “let them eat cake” will not end well.
Neptune here is also adding fuel to the fire. The ocean boiling, in a way, the illusions melting away and the harsh reality setting in. Thing are not rosy here. And with Mercury, there’s certainly miscommunication and propaganda hit ting us.
26955 Lie is also conjunct Saturn and Mars during the New Moon in this stellium. Yes. More deception and falsehoods, and it’s got that “believe this or else.”
And many people? They’re over it. Even former “true believers” in the spin are spun out and no longer playing ball. Think of the tirades by Orange Julius Caesar on his Truth Social platform regarding Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor-Greene, Candace Owens, and even Alex Jones. All four of which are seemingly speaking out against him now. Yes. Alliances are breaking.
Interestingly enough, much of Neptune-Mercury-Mars-Saturn is sextile Pluto and Juno in Aquarius. Some alliances must be broken for better or newer alliances to form, and for other alliances and relationships or partnerships, a reframing of what that partnership and commitment is will be in order during this lunar cycle.
Things will not stay the way they are for very long.
Uranus at 29 degrees Taurus is also sextiling Neptune and this will get stronger as time progresses. Some major changes will be in store pertaining to resources, stability, and how we think about gaining those. However, Uranus is beginning to take on the airy Gemini energy, and the weakening Uranus usually has in steady, stable Taurus is fading fast. Many sudden changes and surprising events will be coming once it enters Gemini in full by the end of April. Things will not be as clear, but we will have flashes of insight by Arian Neptune here. (NOT “Aryan”, though we can expect more extremist rhetoric too.)
Neptune and Mercury’s side of the stellium square 11823 Christen, 1388 Aphrodite, 10 Hygiea, and 14827 Hypnos in early Cancer also paints an interesting picture.
Neptune and Mercury squaring off against asteroid Christen strikes me as theological and eschatological debates. Given the recent “Doctor Jesus” meme that wasn’t well-received (I’m sure you know which one…), there’s not going to be much love for perceived or actual blasphemies.
The square to Aphrodite, we can expect some fog of war when it comes to attraction and love (and/or lust). Hygiea with this suggests some health impacts, so make sure you know any partner’s history before hooking up.
The square to Hypnos also builds on the deception and falsehood/propaganda theme. This will also play into abuses in relationships and potential partners and hookups, so be careful if going for a night of random fun. In fact, I wouldn’t recommend random fun this weekend. I know it’s springtime here in the northern hemisphere, but trust me, this is not the time.
Some that Glitters is Gold
Venus in Taurus, in its domicile here, conjuncts 666 Desdemona and 1981 Midas. The Desdemona theme is more of a tragic figure thing, but, there’s some hope here with Venus and Midas together. In the third decan of Taurus (so some Capricorn/Saturn vibes in this position), this could denote some benefit in the form of trusts, inheritances, and other benefactors involving legal and institutional means for some.
There is also a sextile from Venus to Nessus and 149 Medusa in Pisces. This is a rather interesting combination…
That conjunction between Nessus and Medusa alone warrants caution. There’s the danger of betrayal by a scorned lover, potential jealousy, or even the reckoning of vengeance from a betrayed person or an abuser towards a target. Venus sextile this does smooth things over somewhat if the warnings are heeded.
Note whoever in your life may want to exact revenge or assert dominance over you and protect your interests carefully. Even if the enemy was defeated, Nessus does denote revenge from the grave as a possible interpretation. So be alert.
Venus square 829 Academia in Leo does strike me as a potential academic scandal. Perhaps a budget cut to a university for not toeing the line to some government BS. Could also be a university-based sex scandal that results in a settlement or massive fine and sanctions. Maybe none of that happens but is more subtle, such as some Spring Break aftermath and… maybe pregnancies. (A little too much fun?)A
And The Rest…
Uranus conjunct 11144 Radiocommunicata in Taurus and Sedna in early Gemini is a longer-term picture being painted.
We’re going to be seeing more surprising developments on the internet and over the airwaves with Uranus with the asteroid associated with communications. I’d expect even some communications breakdowns.
The other conjunction to Sedna, a slow-moving body denoting betrayal by the malevolent masculine, will likely continue to bring us news about further consent and sexual scandals for years to come. Sedna did not pull punches when it transited over Algol some years back, around the height of the #MeToo movement which brought down figures like Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein. (Bill Cosby’s sentence being cut once Sedna moved off of Algol did also play into this.)
Uranus square 10961 Buysballot at 29 Aquarius and 9951 Tyrannosaurus Rx at 0 Virgo does denote some potential sudden shifts towards rigging the next election. It can also denote the demise of authoritarian figures, as we’ve just seen with the electoral defeat of Viktor Orban in Hungary’s recent elections. He didn’t fall to a left-wing figure either if I’m not mistaken. Just going further towards the right was not the winning play, and remaining authoritarian figures are absolutely taking note and either panicking, or are taking heavier measures to maintain power by any means.
128 Nemesis in Capricorn square 55 Pandora Rx in Libra shows us that we’re going to see some attempted backtracking by certain figures to stuff some mistakes back into the box. It isn’t going to work, and retribution will come regardless. Nemesis sextile Vesta in Pisces all but guarantees it, as I think people are a little tired of their most deeply-valued beliefs being trod upon.
In Closing
This Aries stellium and New Moon with the wounded healer and the goddess of discord, during the Year of the Fire Horse, opens a four week lunar cycle of incredible, rapid changes. With Uranus also soon to enter Gemini, you must expect major, rapid changes, and the old world will continue to burn away rapidly.
Hopefully not literally.
However, given the fragile grip on power and the seeming walls closing in for some individuals, we must expect some serious attempts on maintaining and tightening of control. And the discontent of those who do not approve of that control? It’s spreading like a fire in a warehouse full of toilet paper.
Peaceful solutions to problems should be applied where possible, especially during this lunar cycle! But be aware of the possibility that you may have to run for your life if things get ridiculously stupid.
Be ready for anything. And don’t let fear stop you from chasing some of your better dreams. Because this could also be the time where you launch something that changes the course of history for the better.
