I’m way overdue with this one. It has not been an easy couple of weeks since this Eclipse actually happened. But given that Solar Eclipses are in effect for several months to a year after they take place, I still need to write about it. Especially in context to the upcoming New Moon in Aries in October 2025.
The Solar Eclipse Itself
This Solar Eclipse took full effect at 29 Vir 05’09” on September 21, 2025 12:54 PM PDT / 7:54 PM UTC. This eclipse is the second New Moon in Virgo for 2025, and thus also takes on the Taurean qualities of the third decan of Virgo. As it’s in the tail end and critical degree of the sixth sign of the zodiac, Virgo, 6th house themes are still taking center stage in the realms of service, routine, obligations, and our collective health. How our stability and resources fit into those things are also of paramount importance.
Solar Eclipses are supercharged New Moons, so major beginnings of cycles are indicated here. Buckle up.
Sun conjunct Moon remains the core aspect of this and any Solar Eclipse/New Moon. New projects, new beginnings, new cycles, getting things off the ground, and embarking on new journeys and adventures. While a New Moon is normally good for about a month, Solar Eclipses will shed their energy upon us for the next several months, and even up to a full year afterwards. So pay very close attention to what starts up around this time.
Those with placements from 25 degrees in mutable signs (Virgo/Sagittarius/Pisces/Gemini) to 5 degrees in Cardinal signs (Libra/Capricorn/Aries/Cancer) will feel this eclipse acutely, with the largest impacts on the personal planets (Sun/Moon/Mercury/Venus/Mars) and personal points (Ascendant/Descendant, Midheaven/IC, North Node/South Node). The hard aspects (square/opposition/conjunction) between the eclipse and these points will be more potent.
That’s about a 10 degree range. For Vertex/Antivertex placements, tighten that to a 4 degree range total from 27 degrees mutable signs to 1 degrees cardinal signs.
Other Aspects to the Solar Eclipse
Karmic Reckoning
Solar Eclipse Virgo apexes a Grand Trine Kite with an offsign conjunction to 3811 Karma in Libra, an opposition to Saturn retrograde in Pisces and Neptune retrograde still at 0 Aries, and complete with a trine to Pluto retrograde in Aquarius and Uranus retrograde in Gemini.
The trine between Pluto retrograde (Rx) and Uranus Rx alone is powerful enough. There are major revolutionary changes occurring rapidly, but it’s not as explosive as if this were a square. Innovation, technology, and social constructs are being rewritten and overthrown, while word and thoughts of open rebellion are still being written in the background.
Uranus Rx conjunct Sedna Rx further denotes the overall revolutionary energies building up. There does appear to be further restrictions on social advances that were made in the last several decades, and an attempt at rewinding these. It’s no surprise this apparent betrayal by patriarchal systems and leaders would foment rebellion, both passive and active, with the quiet building of resistance in the background.
Pluto Rx conjunct 55555 DNA and 8690 Swindle also is an indicator of some reversal and recursion from sound science and the propagation of propaganda and snake oil cures. As well as reversals of decades of health guidance by previously trusted authorities. You’ve got to ask yourself who benefits from this. On the other hand, we’re also seeing some undoing of the proliferation of some toxins in our food (artificial colors), if the current administration is to be believed.
I, for one, wouldn’t mind the abolition of Red 40. (Trust me on this one, I’ve had a protein powder that had that artificial color in it. I was almost thinking I had something wrong with my digestive tract until I stopped using that one. Yes, it makes things leave your body red. Chemicals in American food and supplements are just wrong, I’m telling you. But I digress.)
Back to the subject at hand: Solar Eclipse Virgo opposing Saturn Rx and Neptune Rx does indicate some reckoning between our routines and expectations, and the unravelling of illusions that we need to come to grips with. Maybe you’ve been wanting the unattainable, whether it’s a relationship with someone close to you, a new job, recognition at a current job, or some rapid progress on a health and fitness regimen.
Temper your expectations. It may not come at all, or it may not be supposed to happen yet. That “no” might be a “not yet”, and especially will remain “no” as long as you don’t do the work.
And consider that “no” means “no” for good.
For the things you can control, put in the discipline and hard work. For things that involve someone else’s choice… respect their decisions. And if they have a change of heart later on, go from there then. Don’t dwell on what you don’t have now.
New Explorations?
Solar Eclipse Virgo sextile Juno in Scorpio could be interesting. While not as strong as the harder aspects, there’s the potential for exploration for some commitment here. It may be based on the more darker, shadowy side of things like a friends with benefits situation. Or perhaps committing to some more esoteric arts in an organized setting, like a coven. Explore but be cautious.
Other Noteworthy Aspects During the Solar Eclipse
God of War in Focus
Major contention here. Mars at 29 Libra square Pluto Rx in Aquarius. This is already troublesome for many reasons.
Mars is not in its strongest position in Libra, but it’s at that critical degree where it’s beginning to throw off the shackles of indecision before reentering one of its domiciles in Scorpio. But it’s also squaring the lord of the underworld which is already turned inward.
There can be some serious self-loathing for some, and some flashes of violence for others. It’s not a diplomatic aspect at all.
Mars also conjuncts 10961 Buysballot, 85047 Krakatau, and 407 Arachne, all offsign in Scorpio. Buysballot suggests what it says: buying ballots, making shady deals.
Krakatau, think Krakatoa. Massive explosions, like a huge volcano. And Arachne snares us in its web.
Mars square 4955 Gold at 0 Leo and 2601 Bologna at 29 Cancer also points to trouble with financial matters, money problems, and more boloney. Goes hand in hand with Buysballot. Beware of BS claims.
On top of this, Mars also apexes a Yod from Uranus Rx/Sedna Rx in Gemini, and Saturn Rx in Pisces/Neptune Rx in Aries. Rhetoric and propaganda I imagine will stir passions for the next several months, and people will act brazenly on artificially-generated content, propaganda, lies, and misinformation. Not a fun place to be in.
Mars sextile Venus in Virgo, however, might smooth some things over slightly. It’s a weak sextile, but there’s the potential to finally make some good decisions on a path forward if we put in the effort to get our daily tasks done. Some potential to check off boxes on our to-do lists and be productive.
Market Instability
Not financial advice. Note this well.
Venus in Virgo square Uranus Rx in Gemini doesn’t point to conventional movements in markets, money, and speculation. Uranus will also, at some point, rewind back into Taurus for the last pass for the next several decades.
Venus is, in addition to relationships and what we find attractive, also denotes possessions and what we value. Uranus is uncertainty, surprising events, sudden changes. We can second-guess ourselves now and have unexpected events throw monkey wrenches into the machinery of our work. Triple-check everything that’s mission critical.
Yes, some colleagues of mine and I got bit by this already. So heed well.
Venus quincunx Pluto Rx doesn’t play nice with this either. We know we have to change up our methods to get some better results, just like when we do the same workout for months and start hitting a plateau. Considering the Pluto Rx-DNA conjunction, we can also have a forced readjustment with, say, a cold hitting just as you’re about to hit the end of your running goal at the end of a month. (Yes, I had this happen too. Rough month. Getting over that fast though.)
Pluto Rx’s link to Swindle also pipes through the quincunx to Venus as well. So be aware of deceptions and scams.
Jovial Shadow
Jupiter in Cancer makes a Water Grand Trine with two calculated points, the North Node in Pisces and Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio. Not sure how strongly this will be felt, but there can be a great deal of subtle, subconscious acceptance of some more emotional realities. Could be something like conceding that a love interest is with someone else, or that a particular passion project may not work well in the current market.
Again, some things could be “not right now”, and other things could subtly be telling you “not this, but what comes next will be better for you.” Be open and receptive, but watch yourself.
And do the work. The dark side of the Grand Trine is idleness.
Chaotic Healing
Chiron Rx conjunct Eris Rx in Aries is going to be with us for awhile.
Chiron, the wounded healer, is forcing us to confront and heal our inner wounds to better our own selves and core identities. Meanwhile, the slow-moving goddess of discord, Eris, is going to make sure this healing process is interesting and not boring. Embrace the chaos and what doesn’t kill you may make you stronger. Or stranger. Or both.
In Closing
Serious catalysts for change are in the air right now. The old world is dead, and it keeps trying to resurface, and it keeps dying, like a zombie with resurrection. It’s not going to keep coming back, and the final rise of this zombie world will be the old systems on fire. Let’s pray that meaning stays on the figurative side and not literal.
There is a great potential for serious conflict escalation, but also some potential hope for key players to take a step back and not give in to the march of destruction.
However, we need to be advocates for ourselves, and own our own power. This Eclipse cycle has shown us that we must be ready to make hard choices, and that things will change whether we want them to or not.
