This Full Moon in Scorpio will be testing us in ways we would not like to be tested, but we have little choice but to confront our shadow sides now. What began with New Moon Taurus culminates now.
The Full Moon Itself
Full Moon Scorpio goes exact at 22 Sco 12’39” on May 12th, 2025 at 9:55 AM PDT / 4:55 PM UTC.
This Full Moon is in the third decan of Scorpio, giving us a decidedly Cancerian/Moon vibe to this already Martian/Plutonian underworld-themed lunation. We’re facing off with our inner shadows, confronting our demons, and dealing with what we thought we’ve buried deep. It will come out when we least expect it, and it’ll impact us more in our more private moments. But confront it we must.
The main aspect of Sun opposite Moon denotes the usual culmination period where we face the completion of projects and themes that began with the Taurus New Moon. Where that New Moon kicked off the “Figure it Out or Find Out” theme, we are now Finding Out if we didn’t Figure It Out.
Fortunately, I think some people figured it out. For those, the Find Out will be somewhat more subdued or tolerable. For those who chose not to figure it out… hope you like fireworks.
Other Aspects to the Full Moon
Opening the Heart
Full Moon Scorpio conjunct 2598 Merlin retrograde signals some much-needed wisdom and the making of magic right now, but we have to make our own magic for this to work.
There is also an opposition from Full Moon Scorpio to 1388 Aphrodite in Taurus, conjunct the Sun. We’re seeing a theme here of finding or expressing our attraction for another via gifts, money, or the offer of stability. Whether that is appreciated may be a fine balancing act, especially as it may come as a surprise. Full Moon Scorpio opposite Uranus on Algol ups the unexpected and surprise factor of this.
Full Moon Scorpio quincunx Jupiter and 19 Fortuna in Gemini could indicate some “do I or don’t I?” vibes in regards to such professions of love and desire. We know what we want to do to make that magic happen, but will it? Perhaps the recipient isn’t sure what they want to do. Perhaps they’ve been burnt by too many promises and thus they’re afraid this is “too good to be true.” Who can blame them? Some give and take is needed and patience required.
Nessus in Pisces trine Full Moon Scorpio can bring some inroads to overcoming the stains of past abuse, but it’ll take some work for this to happen. Maybe some encouragement to overcome the previous hurts.
Full Moon Scorpio square Pallas in Aquarius requires us to consider the wisdom of our actions right now. Or, perhaps that wisdom is muddled by past experiences by those who were using technology to control the other. Some solid effort will be needed to win trust and also consider the wisdom of weighing proposals versus the desire to remain independent.
Other Aspects Active During This Full Moon
Confront the Shadow
Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio conjuncts 100 Hekate, requiring us to consider choices and come out of fear to select a better path ahead. Hekate is a goddess of crossroads, after all. Which way will you choose?
Mercury, 1924 Horus, and 1912 Anubis in Taurus opposing Black Moon Lilith gets tricky. Transport and discussion of esoteric matters, magickal tools, and spiritual implements will be highlighted now. This could play into that Aphrodite-Full Moon link a bit.
Black Moon Lilith square Pluto retrograde in Aquarius, completing a T-Square between Lilith and Mercury really ramps things up. Pluto is the lord of the underworld and tears things down, forcing us to rebuild.
Anyone with placements in early Scorpio and Taurus are going to feel this quite harshly. Such people need to be kind to themselves, as this is going to be a devastator of a transit for quite some time.
You will be remade, for better or for worse. This goes beyond this Full Moon.
Black Moon Lilith square 55 Pandora, 2063 Bacchus, and 12927 Pinocchio in Leo acts as a warning to not get carried away, be truthful about things, and try to hold onto some hope.
This is a transit that is going to test many people’s abilities to trust themselves, their intuitions, and confront the darkness within. Good allies and friends will be instrumental in helping get through this.
The Raising of the Inner Child
Venus in Aries conjunct 11144 Radiocommunicata and 4580 Child could have us seeking validation of our inner child while talking over the phone, texting with others, or posting on social media. Some vulnerability will be pouring out during this lunar culmination.
Mars in Leo trine Venus in Aries does provide a slight energy boost to pursue what fulfills us. Venus is finishing its post-retrograde shadow, so do harness the creative spark and see what your passions can do for you. But put in the effort and be reasonable.
Venus in Aries sextile Pluto retrograde in Aquarius is also helpful in finding the strength and energy to rebuild.
Ixion retrograde in Capricorn square Venus in Aries warns us not to betray ourselves in the favor of following traditional rules. This is the time to break the mold, as doing the same old thing isn’t going to get us where we want to go now.
Heightened Passions
Mars conjunct 447 Valentine and 3811 Karma in Leo is rather interesting… I see this as an increased drive to show some precious love to someone who needs to feel that right now. And perhaps this is a fated or karmic event for some.
Not all karma is bad, of course. Some of it is paying dividends to improve things.
No More Running
Jupiter, 157 Dejanira, 545 Messalina, 19 Fortuna, and 9951 Tyrannosaurus in Gemini square the Nodes in Pisces (North) and Virgo (South) speaks to me of a lunar culmination where we cannot run from past hurts and where we feel victimized anymore.
Jupiter expands what it touches, in addition to being the “greater benefic”. It’s time to confront these issues head on.
Dejanira is, of course, the victim’s asteroid. It’s where we have been victimized, or where we potentially victimize ourselves. We can also use this to pull ourselves out of that victim mentality.
Messalina was named for a promiscuous Roman empress who was notorious for infidelity. And Tyrannosaurus was, of course, a tyrant as an apex predator back in the age of the dinosaurs.
All of this squaring the nodes of destiny and our comfort zones, this speaks to me of a time where we must confront where others’ betrayals and tyranny made us feel like victims, and use some good fortune and some hope that things can improve to break the cycle and break free of these past sins that have been forced upon us.
Jupiter square 6157 Prey, with the North Node in Pisces, further amplifies this. We cannot move on if we continue to feel as if we are prey.
Chiron and Eris in Aries sextile Jupiter brings us more opportunity to embrace some healing, perhaps unexpectedly so and via some chaos and discord, to get past this rough period in our lives.
A wide square between Saturn in late Pisces and Jupiter does dampen things a little, but overall, embracing hope rather than despair would be more useful for us.
Inner Discipline
Saturn in late Pisces on fixed star Scheat conjuncts Ceres and 5325 Silver in PIsces, and Neptune in Aries.
Saturn is the disciplinarian, but also rewards hard work and discipline. Consider the lessons learned from Saturn, and the rewards can be great.
Ceres is the home and hearth dwarf planet, and Silver here denotes matters regarding money and finances. So we’ll have to get past some fantasy and do some good budgeting to keep the home fires lit.
Neptune in Aries brings an ideological flair, and warns us to not become too incendiary in our branstorming.
Saturn square 5180 Ohno in Gemini, and 26955 Lie retrograde in Sagittarius warns us not to lie to ourselves and psyche ourselves out. Be disciplined, watch for deceptions, and don’t panic and miss out on good opportunities.
In Closing
To cut this short, if we heeded the warning of the Taurus New Moon and figured it out, we should be finding that we’re coming out of some shadows. The other shadows remain to be confronted, however, and we absolutely need to do the deep work to get past what is eating away at us.
You don’t have to do it alone, though. Most of us have at least one person who’s in our corner and will stand with us, or help us out in a time of need. Don’t be afraid to ask for a helping hand if you need to.
