As a culmination of the New Moon in Taurus cycle, this Full Moon is a culmination point where our optimism and hopes are put to the test. Let’s get into it.
The Full Moon Itself
The Full Moon goes exact at 13 Sag 18’02” on June 3rd, 2023 8:41:42 PM PDT (June 4th, 2023 3:41:42 AM UTC). The primary aspect, as always, is Sun opposite Moon, which is stronger at this time. It’s a culmination point where the Moon is in the 9th sign of Sagittarius. We’re feeling more hopeful that things will improve. The Sun in Gemini, on the other hand, puts the focus on communications and travel, as well as agreements. Make sure you haven’t committed to anything overly binding right now if it doesn’t feel right.
Full Moons are a time of completion, and harvesting what we put into motion at the beginning of the New Moon cycle. Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be finishing up these finer details.
Other Aspects to This Full Moon
Energy Into Passions
Full Moon Sagittarius trine Mars in Leo is an easier energy that represents a nice boost to the more creative and fun ideas we have now. Mars is energy, drive, passion, and also can represent aggression, anger, and impatience. We want fun, and we want it now. There will be plenty of opportunities for this as Summer is coming.
The trine formation is a “softer” or “easier” energy, so some of us will find less to get in the way of some much-needed recreation. The danger of trines, however, is a tendency to get complacent. Do spend time creating, but don’t get too lazy. Idle hands are hands that aren’t creating. But don’t feel too bad if you need a little downtime.
Other Noteworthy Transits During this Full Moon
Leap of Faith
Jupiter and the North Node join together in conjunction in Taurus, and form a Grand Cross with Pluto retrograde at 0 degrees Aquarius, Venus in late Cancer, and the South Node in Scorpio. This is majorly heavy energy.
Jupiter and the North Node together alone is significant, as this normally only happens once a decade or so. Optimism, foreign travel, learning about other cultures, and spiritual or religious retreats are highlighted here. Some astrologers may mean this to mean easy money, but beware of this complacency now.
Jupiter and North Node square Pluto retrograde as it’s about to return to Capricorn is testing our faith right now. Pluto is the destroyer and renewer, and the retrograde indicates that we’re working on tearing down and rebuilding ourselves. As Aquarius is associated with the Information Age, and with the rise of AI-based tools, we find ourselves in an existential crisis. Pluto will return to Capricorn shortly after this transit, and the institutional powers (governments, large corporations, etc.) will be making some last grasps at holding onto the status quo over the next several months.
Overoptimism
Jupiter and North Node square Venus in Cancer is another area of difficulty. Both Venus and Jupiter are considered benefics in astrology, or associated with good things and good luck, money, valuables, that sort of thing. In a square (~90 degree) formation, the optimism and money/relationships/valuables is put to a test. Even more so of a test now that Pluto is involved as well.
There are plenty of rewards and gains to be had, but you’ll need to make some hard decisions to really benefit from this. Those with many paths ahead will need to prune some of those paths and devote energy to a single cause. An example of this is having five creative projects in the works, but you only have time to work on one or two of those. Pick the best of the choices, and focus on that. Make notes for the other choices, and come back to them later.
Jupiter’s wide square to Mars is also an issue. Some of us are impatient, wanting to move forward, and there’s a risk of moving forward too quickly. Double-check and make sure you’re not jumping into a bad investment. There’s plenty of questionable ventures out there now, so do your due diligence.
Saturn in Pisces quincunx Mars in Leo also adds to the caution against overoptimism. Saturn is discipline and hard work, and it’s in the dreamy sign of Pisces now. Don’t jump into something that’s too good to be true. Put in the hard, and smart work.
Surprising Messages
Mercury conjunct Uranus in Taurus is another aspect we’re contending with right now. Mercury, messenger of the gods, paired with rebellious Uranus in a normally stable sign indicates sudden changes in fortune.
The upsides of this, when also considering the Jupiter-North Node connection (also in Taurus), can be some sudden coming into money. The downside, of course, is the sudden outflow of money as well. Mercury retrograde has ended and it’s outside of post-retrograde shadow, but that doesn’t mean sudden car breakdowns can’t happen. Keep your contingency plans on standby.
Inspiration
Venus in late Cancer trine Neptune in late Pisces brings an air of creative inspiration from the depths of our subconscious. As Neptune also sextiles Pluto retrograde in early Aquarius, there’s a chance of seeing the beauty in all the demolition of the old world. New worlds, new creativity, it’s all possible right now. Again, Pluto demands sacrifice, so what will you surrender to harness these creative visions? There’s always a cost. Even if it’s just time taken to jot down a few ideas, it can grow into great things now. Don’t let good ideas whither on the vine.
To Sum It Up
As Full Moon culmination cycles go, this one has a great deal of promise to break us out of some ruts we’ve found ourselves in. Plenty of creativity and opportunity to break free. The trick is, knowing which opportunities to pursue.
Don’t fall for a scam or rug pull: Create your own destiny. Trust me, you’ll feel a lot better working for an upswing in fortune rather than being the lucky few in a game of chance. Of course, if your good luck happens to come from a game of chance or a lucky investment, and you use those winnings to build for the future, that works too. Just don’t count on it.
Build for the future. Get your hands into the dirt if you need to and make something awesome. Be flexible, but don’t try to be in ten places at once. And don’t waste opportunity now. Get it done.
