2026 has barely begun, and now we’re facing off with the first Full Moon of this year already. And already, as I write this, some major s*** is going down.
The Full Moon Itself
Full Moon Cancer peaks at 13 Can 01’58” on January 3rd, 2026 at 2:02 AM PST / 10:02 AM UTC.
The Full Moon in Cancer deals with themes of our private lives and our homefronts, as opposed to the public-facing and reputational sides we deal with where the Sun is now in Capricorn.
With the Full Moon in second decan Cancer, we are dealing with some Scorpionic themes, so some more aggressive and behind-the-scenes plays will be affecting us in our private and home lives. Emotions can be quite deep and brooding now for many of us, with explosive outbursts and events waiting to erupt (if they aren’t already).
Full Moons are always the Sun opposite Moon aspect as well, ending as a sort of culmination point where the themes of the preceding New Moon bears its fruit. Project completions, ending journeys, and the end results of a chain of events manifest here.

Sirius and the Dogs of War
Full Moon Cancer conjunct Sirius brings the possibility of business developments for some, with a warning of if anything malefic is with fixed star Scheat, then the possibility of fiery and cutting weapons being involved in death or destruction (per Constellation of Words). Now, I wouldn’t normally consider Neptune to be a malefic, but the fact that as I write this article the United States has launched strikes on Venezuela’s capital, implying boots on the ground (so much for “no new wars”…) forces us to consider Neptune a malefic in this instance.
We also have Full Moon Cancer opposite Venus and Mars, both tightly conjunct one another and the Sun. Let’s take this in pieces.
Venus conjunct Mars in Capricorn brings us an increased passion and drive to pursue money, relationships, lust and power, especially in Saturn’s domain. Hence, governments and militaries making bold, decisive, if not rash actions to protect or acquire wealth, resources, and I’d argue territory here too. The conjunction to the Sun here, with neither in cazimi, does “burn up” the power of Venus and Mars here to an extent, so moves to acquire will have the potential to be thwarted, or not be as successful as if either Venus or Mars were within the 17 minutes of a degree conjunction zone to said Sun.
The fact that the current situation with the United States in what I surmise to be an illegal and/or illicit campaign against Venezuela demonstrates this point quite well.
Full Moon Cancer and Venus/Sun/Mars in Capricorn also square asteroids 5325 Silver and 114 Kassandra in Aries. Silver’s prices in the markets for precious metals escalated and then drew back right before this Full Moon took shape, which matches. And Kassandra here shows us that wisdom is not being heeded here. There’s warnings, and the decision-makers are not listening.
On the other side of this, Full Moon Cancer squares 26 Proserpina and 3063 Makhaon in Libra. This makes an asteroid Grand Cross with all of this together. Proserpina invokes a journey to and from the underworld, and we are definitely going into the underworld now with current events, especially with the Epstein file revelations coming out.
Hmm… Can’t imagine why we’d have a “tail wagging the dog” military strike going on as political and industry leaders are being implicated in a grossly disgusting scandal of abuse, trafficking, and murder.
So pay attention. That’s the high-profile manifestation of these aspects. Consider what else in your own personal lives are playing out these themes.
Venus/Sun/Mars also conjunct asteroids Pholus and 4386 Lust, further amplifying the intoxication and lust aspects, both consensual and forced. Do not let people force you to do anything you do not consent to, and I urge training (professional or self-training) in disabling attackers regarding this… subject.
Remember, when seconds count, the police are minutes away… and that’s if the authorities aren’t actively participating in the atrocities against you and others.
Be careful who you trust now.
Other Aspects to Consider During the Full Moon
Unpleasant Messages
Mercury and Juno in Capricorn make an off-sign square to Neptune at 29 Pisces on Scheat. Let’s break that down further.
Mercury conjunct Juno in Capricorn brings with it all sorts of messages and signings of documents and conveying of commitments of all kinds. Marriages, business contracts, agreements, lawsuits, the sky’s the limit here.
Both of these squaring Neptune warn us of deception, deals “too good to be true”, abnormal conditions, and even psychic manipulation. Make sure whatever you sign is ironclad and in your favor, and read the f***ing contracts before you sign them! It is very easy to have malicious and exploitative terms put into the fine print now.
Mercury/Juno also conjunct 10961 Buysballot, 85047 Krakatau, 4464 Vulcano, 389 Industria, and 100 Hekate as well. Bribes and other palm-greasing terms and deals are going on right now, particularly in industrial and corporate environments. Think the ongoing AI/tech bubble propping up the markets right now. And when this bubble pops, it’s going to blow up in ALL of our faces. So you’ve got some major decisions to make right now.
Pick the path that damages you the least if you are able to do so, and pay special attention. You may have more choices than you realize, just make sure they’re not deceptions.
Trouble in Paradise?
Chiron and Eris retrograde (Rx) in Aries square Jupiter Rx in Cancer can be having us feel a bit deflated, like we’re not in control. This feeling can follow us home too and really be tearing at our emotions. We need to remember that this chaos will pass, and better days can come ahead.
11144 Radiocommunicata and 151 Abundantia also conjunct Chiron and Eris Rx, further ratcheting up the fear and loathing factor with the propaganda and media bombardment we’re subjected to on an hourly (never mind daily) basis. To restore any sense of optimism (and to quell any foolish overoptimism), we need to pay attention to our mental health and turn off the noise so we don’t have a mental overload.
5180 Ohno and 55 Pandora in Libra also interact with Jupiter retrograde and Chiron/Eris Rx/etc. This further ramps up the doomscrolling factor, and is another sign we really need to disconnect and trust in our intuition more. But we also need to be aware so we’re not caught by surprise by actual info that needs to be considered (like new laws coming into effect, usually around this time of year).
There’s being informed, and then there’s drowning ourselves in “the sky is falling” crap.
Focus, Discipline, Overcome
Saturn conjunct Neptune in Pisces, both sextile Uranus Rx in Taurus gives us an opportunity.
Saturn is discipline, structure, delay, blockages, and in effect, karma. We reap what we sow one way or another.
Neptune is mystic, illusory, psychism, and also delusions, addictions, watery, the subconscious.
Combine Saturn and Neptune, and the better parts of mental imagery can be brought into focus and put into effect, like a symphony being written to paper by Mozart in the good scenarios. For many of us, illusions and daydreams, and fantasy all come to hit hard reality. In Pisces, it’s subtle, but the dream can come to an end and we end up having to see the world as it is.
Both sextile Uranus Rx in Taurus, we’re seeing some major upheaval in our money, wealth, resources, stability. The job market sucking is one of these manifestations. But… with proper focus, and seeing what isn’t working, we can perhaps draw upon universe/god/spirit/etc. and its wisdom to find what can or will work.
It also calls us to have a little faith that things can get better.
Saturn/Neptune sextile Vesta and 149 Medusa in Capricorn also plays into this. What are your highest ideals when it comes to structures and our governing institutions? And can those institutions be trusted not to betray us or stare us into stone? That’s a question that you need to consider now.
What is truly important to you?
Pluto in Aquarius sextile Neptune does offer some glimpses into the new world about to open to us, and Pluto trine Uranus Rx may yield some innovative solutions. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box.
If we’re doing what everyone else is doing, which isn’t working for a lot of people, you’re going to have the same result. Don’t be afraid to experiment, whether it’s a job search approach, handling and writing down tasks, or whatever else you need to do. And don’t be afraid to use technology to do it.
That said, this is also the time where technological giants are overstepping, and the collective people need to stand up and put a stop to the most destructive of these events. One example is the resistance in many localities to the proliferation of data centers for AI and other computing, which appears to be steamrolling in without regard to the effects of power generation and water usage in many places.
The people have more power than they realize. Come together, brainstorm, and exercise that collective power. While one person may have a voice, one person may not have the power alone.
This is, but of course, just one example.

This Full Moon in Cancer is bringing the crows home to roost, and the crows are vocal. We are fast approaching some endgames that many would rather have not had to play.
Greed, back room deals, and distractions launched against rival powers to drown out the onslaught of past sins are going to get much more prominent now. Do not let yourself be distracted.
Disconnect if you need to to protect your peace, but then get back into the fight and be informed. Filter out the propaganda and fear, and consider what changes are coming whether you like it or not.
And don’t lose hope. There’s still room to make some good ideas come to life. So get to it.
